It does not appear to be linked with the people uk humanist gave us. That is from a very superfical read.
I doubt the two groups would be related, TalkOrigins is a group set up to provide mainstream scientific responses to these kind of subjects. I wasn't quoting from them (the formatting of my post was lost), the page I linked to gives an interesting overview of the topic.:

As far as I know, I will be missing for 3 days...
by AuldSoul inas much as i love reading what you all have to say, i must be gone for a few.
my wife has this crazy idea that she needs to go to the district convention.
what a life we unbelieving mates (ubms) have, eh?.

I went with my wife went to a convention last year, and I attended for half a day.
My mouth kept dropping at things: mainly the sexism and the prejudice against non-JWs.
My take-away from the experience was "I've never been so insulted in all my life" and I meant it. -

Correction:
My wife informs me that God told Noah to build the boat.
Please read 'he thought big boats were cool' as 'God thought big boats were cool'. -

Even a local flood, the obvious response would be to move to higher ground, seemed to be enough time to reach a local mountain.
Assuming existence of Noah (which I don't):
No flood: Noah built boat as proof-of-concept.
Local flood: Noah built boat, not through necessity, but because he thought big boats were cool, and he just wanted to build one, using advanced techniques that have been lost to this day. -

With no evidence of a global flood - why would Noah's Ark exist? I guess Noah must have made it as a proof-of-concept, that solves the intrinsic difficulties in building such a large wooden ship. http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-noahs-ark.html

supersonic: My granda was told that without having blood it was almost certain he would die, they did everything they could to get him to take the blood but he wouldn't budge, this was a very serious operation and he came through it unscathed and is still with us 5 years later and has had no problems since.
Your point being?

Church Fathers Purposely Lied about Jesus
by gumby injosephus as most know, was a jewish/roman 1st century historian.
he was well respected by the roman community and christians were zealous readers of his works.. he is one person christians use as a solid basis for proof of jesus earthly existence.
here is a quote that is used by some christians who strongly believe these words came from the hand of josephus himself,"now, there was about this time, jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure.

Sorry, another 607 question? I'm confused.
by lost_light06 inim trying to figure something out concerning the wts 607-1914 chronology that has me confused.
i thought they based the chronology on when jerusalem was destroyed.
however, the following is taken from the daniel book and it seems to base it on something else.

celebrated ... wisely - I assume you're being sarcastic? Who celebrates these people, and how do they qualify as scholars - do you know who they are? Do you know their qualifications?

The Bible. Despite many reasons to dismiss it why do so many believe?
by nicolaou ina man cannot walk on water, truly dead people do not come back to life and 1 + 1 will never equal 3. these are just a few of the absurd impossibilities that one must swallow and accept in order to 'believe' the bible.. why does the belief that the bible is 'truth' persist?.
men cannot survive a fiery furnace unscathed, the sun cannot stand still in the sky and donkeys cannot speak hebrew.
unless you believe the bible.

As for miracles, and the idea that there is even one proven miracle, there is a million dollar prize for the first proof of anything of the paranormal, which miracles would certainly qualify for.
Million Dollar Challenge
Hasn't happened yet, and I don't expect it any time soon (actually I don't expect it ever).
